Intimate and poetic, Marie's music aims at communicating the depth of human emotions. Her music always centers around her instrument, the piano, and draws influence from experiences that have shaped her as a human - from deep roots in classical traditions to recurrent folkloristic harmonic elements of her Armenian origins. Her compositions form through elegantly crafted melodies and their evolving discourse, at once deep and intimate, aimed to bring about simplicity through the sophistication of a classically crafted pianistic language.

Marie Awadis

Marie Awadis is an Armenian pianist and composer based in Germany. She is known for fusing classical and minimal music with Armenian folk elements. Classically trained on the piano since age nine, she studied music in Lebanon and Germany. On her sophomore album “Searching” (2017), Awadis reflected her reconnection with her Armenian roots. She recorded “Una Corda Diaries” (2020) on a unique concert piano in Budapest, followed by a single in Deutsche Grammophon’s Project XII series.
