Poems’ the collaborative debut DG album from Icelandic composer, conductor and producer Viktor Orri Árnason and soprano and visual artist Álfheiður Erla Guðmundsdóttir, is released worldwide on 10 November – on CD, on vinyl and digitally. Its ten exquisite tracks draw on the pair’s shared cultural heritage, setting poems by Icelandic poets past and present, including lyrics by Árnason and Guðmundsdóttir themselves.

Meet the artist

Viktor Orri Árnason

Viktor Orri Árnason is an Icelandic violinist/violist, composer and conductor and a member of indie rock band Hjaltalín and string ensemble Skark. A sought-after collaborator, Árnason has worked with Jóhann Jóhannsson, Hildur Guðnadóttir, Hauschka, Ólafur Arnalds, and Björk. His solo debut “Eilífur” was released in 2021, followed by “Myrkvi” and “Poems”, a collaboration with soprano Álfheiður Erla Guðmundsdóttir, both in 2023. His contributions can be heard on various film and TV soundtracks.
