First Wave of 2024 World Soundtrack Awards Nominees Announced

The World Soundtrack Academy has revealed the initial nominees for the 24th World Soundtrack Awards, highlighting some of the year's most memorable film and television music. This year’s nominees for Film & Television Composer of the Year include new talents such as Jerskin Fendrix and Laura Karpman, alongside seasoned composers like Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard.

Film Composer of the Year Nominees:
•    Jerskin Fendrix for Kinds of Kindness, Poor Things
•    Ludwig Göransson for Oppenheimer
•    Laura Karpman for American Fiction, The Marvels, Rock Hudson: All That Heaven Allowed
•    Anthony Willis for Saltburn
•    Hans Zimmer for Dune: Part Two, The Creator

Television Composer of the Year Nominees:
•    Nick Chuba, Atticus Ross, and Leopold Ross for Shōgun
•    Natalie Holt for Loki (Season 2)
•    James Newton Howard for All the Light We Cannot See (Season 1)
•    Martin Phipps for The Crown (Season 6)
•    Carlos Rafael Rivera for Griselda, Lessons in Chemistry, Monsieur Spade
•    Jeff Russo for Fargo (Season 5), Ripley (Season 1)


In the Best Original Song category, the nominees are:
•    “Dance The Night” from Barbie by Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt, Caroline Ailin, Dua Lipa, performed by Dua Lipa
•    “I’m Just Ken” from Barbie by Andrew Wyatt and Mark Ronson, performed by Ryan Gosling
