Max Richter, the luminary composer known for his fusion of classical and electronic music, has announced his ninth studio album, In A Landscape, set to release on September 6th via Decca Records. The album marks a profound exploration of optimism and human emotion, blending electronic sounds with field recordings to create a reflective and innovative musical journey.
In A Landscape acts as a counterpart to Richter’s seminal 2004 album, The Blue Notebooks, inviting listeners into a dialogue about life's dualities. “The music on the record is about connecting or reconciling polarities,” Richter explains. The album, recorded at the minimalist, eco-conscious Studio Richter Mahr, features tracks inspired by literary works and personal reflections.
Richter's announcement also includes his first-ever world tour, spanning 2024 and 2025, with performances across the UK, Europe, North America, Canada, Australia, and Asia. Highlights include London’s Royal Festival Hall and Los Angeles' Walt Disney Concert Hall.
