Howard Shore and Hildur Guðnadóttir to Headline Inaugural London Soundtrack Festival

London will host its first annual London Soundtrack Festival (LSF) from March 19 to 26, 2025, celebrating the music of film, TV, and games. Headlined by Oscar-winning composer Howard Shore, known for his work on The Lord of the Rings and The Silence of the Lambs, the festival promises an exciting array of events, including an exclusive in-conversation session with Shore and filmmaker David Cronenberg about their legendary collaborations.

The festival, in association with the BFI, will take place in iconic cultural venues across London, such as Southbank Centre, BFI IMAX, The Roundhouse, Alexandra Palace, Wigmore Hall, and Cadogan Hall. The program will feature live performances, panel discussions, in-conversation screenings, composer Q&As, and masterclasses, highlighting the city's status as a global center for soundtrack music.

A special retrospective will honor Howard Shore's illustrious career, while the festival will also celebrate the achievements of Hildur Guðnadóttir, acclaimed for her scores for Tar and Joker. Other featured composers include Anna Meredith (Eighth Grade), Anne Dudley (Poldark, The Full Monty), Harry Gregson-Williams (The Martian), Stephen Barton (Star Trek: Picard, Star Wars: Jedi – Fallen Order), Natalie Holt (Loki, Obi-Wan Kenobi), and Paul Farrer (The Chase, Weakest Link).

The London Soundtrack Festival, founded by concert producer, broadcaster, and musician Tommy Pearson, is inspired by the late Christopher Gunning, renowned for his iconic theme to ITV’s Poirot and the BAFTA-winning score for La Vie En Rose. In honor of Gunning's legacy, the festival will present the annual Gunning Inspiration Award to a distinguished figure in the industry who has significantly impacted music.

As the popularity of soundtrack music continues to rise, with orchestral concerts featuring film, TV, and game music drawing significant audiences, the London Soundtrack Festival aims to celebrate and elevate this beloved art form.
