Ólafur Arnalds’ OPIA Community—a traveling music festival, label, and community hub—announces the release of its second album by Nashville-based Icelandic composer Davidsson. Following his opening performance for The Rolling Stones with Kaleo, Davidsson is set to release his second single, "Family Tree," from his debut album Lifelines, released in August.
Davidsson describes "Family Tree" as a reflection on life and lineage, likening it to a forest journey with ever-changing surroundings. The track, inspired by Skúli Sverrisson’s acoustic sound, features guitar, piano, pedal steel guitar, and harmonica.
Davidsson’s musical path was notably recognized with a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music in 2015. His collaborations with artists like Kaleo, Laufey, and Chuck Leavell highlight his versatility.
Lifelines, Davidsson’s debut album, captures his emotional depth and personal experiences, enriched by contributions from Skúli Sverrisson and Davíð Þór Jónsson.
