For many of us, the new year represents a fresh start, which is a concept that can hold a lot of power. Metaphorically hitting that ‘reset’ button. Sophie Hutchings’ new EP, Tomorrow’s Light, invites listeners to reflect, reconnect, and step into 2025 with a sense of calm and hope.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind the EP, Sophie shared: “I wrote ‘Tomorrow’s Light’ in view of these many mixed emotions we feel as humans—fear, vulnerability, strength. What we can be to other people and what we can be to ourselves.”
Drawing from her lifelong love of Lewis Carroll’s work, Sophie said: “As a child, I was obsessed with Alice in Wonderland... and I still am! Charles Ludwidge Dogson, better known as Lewis Carroll, had many beautiful quotes. This one has always stuck with me: ‘If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there.’ Fear of the unknown can often get in the way of starting something, and I love this quote for that reason. You can only discover and unlock by starting somewhere—and that somewhere will eventually get you there.”
Stay tuned as there will be new music coming as part of a new album project this year
