About

This exclusive reissue of the 2019 soundtrack with 13 tracks is a limited, hand-numbered Glow in the Dark vinyl.

The film score was composed by Icelandic OscarGolden Globe and GRAMMY nominated composer Hildur Guðnadóttir using sound recordings from a real nuclear power plant. It was labelled one of Guðnadóttir's best original compositions, followed by the soundtrack to Joker, which was released later that year.

On 26 April 1986, the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine, Soviet Union, suffered a massive explosion that released radioactive material across Belarus, Russia and Ukraine to Scandinavia and Western Europe. Writer, creator and executive producer Craig Mazin began researching the Chernobyl disaster in 2014 using a variety of materials, including several books, government reports from home and abroad, and first-hand accounts. He spoke with nuclear scientists to learn how a reactor works and interviewed former Soviet citizens to get a better understanding of the culture in 1986. Chernobyl is a five-part mini-series co-production between HBO and Sky.
