Lara Somogyi

French for stairs, "escaliers" was born in one of those moments when stars align. weaving through hope, doubt, and acceptance, the piece mirrors the steps we take on our serendipitous journey toward discovery and healing. the harp’s delicate harmonies create a cloudy tapestry upon which the piano softly lands. eventually left alone, the piano is later rejoined by the harp, adapting its rhythm, gradually concluding in a quiet celebration of unity and understanding.

Meet the artist

Lara Somogyi

Lara Somogyi is an American harpist and composer. Born in Hawaii and raised in New York, she is a graduate of London’s Royal Academy of Music and now resides in Los Angeles. Having developed a unique approach to solo harp, pedals and electronics, she implemented it on her acclaimed debut album “!” for Mercury KX in 2022. Somogyi has been working on soundtracks and as a session harpist for film and TV, collaborating with Hans Zimmer, the London Symphony Orchestra and Bonobo, among many others, as well as recording and performing live on stage with an impressive list of legendary artists.
