“I wanted the last half of this album to make the listener feel like they were getting cuddled by a venus fly trap. This earlier piece felt like the perfect opening to beckon you into that narrative. As a single I wanted it to be sweet, innocent, addictive. Micing up pianos feels like something you can finesse with infinite subtlety. It’s hard to know when to stop doing something you enjoy so much. It might just sound like craft, but to me it’s the soul of the song - the way you can fall into a nice mixdown on headphones and not want it to stop. Even political sentiments are implied by how you engineer a track…”

Clark

Clark (1979), born Christopher Stephen Clark, is a British electronic musician and producer. Having released eight studio albums on influential electronic label Warp between 2001 and 2017, he’s produced two more acoustic-leaning albums for Deutsche Grammophon – the soundtrack “Daniel Isn’t Real” (2019), and the neoclassical-leaning “Playground in a Lake” (2021). Clark has extensively produced music for art exhibitions, dance performances, film, TV, and video games throughout his career.
