L.Dre is an American musician and producer, mainly active in the lo-fi beats genre. Raised in Los Angeles, he learned guitar and drums in his youth and studied music production in college. In 2015, he started uploading hip-hop-influenced instrumental tracks to streaming platforms, utilising social media to build his brand and grow his community. Approached by Deutsche Grammophon, L.Dre created the genre-bending album “Lofi Symphony” (2023), sampling HQ orchestra recordings of famous classical pieces.
On his first album for Deutsche Grammophon, Los Angeles-based producer L.Dre creates an unlikely fusion of lo-fi beats and high-end classical recordings. Lofi Symphony transforms Satie, Debussy or Vivaldi pieces into chilled hip-hop instrumentals.
