Icelandic composer Snorri Hallgrimsson ‪‪releases "Longer Shadows, Softer Stones", his debut for Deutsche Grammophon. The EP will be released on 180g vinyl and contains six tracks written and produced by him. The multi-instrumentalist Hallgrímsson, who has already impressed with his skillful reinterpretations of works by Satie, Schumann and Boulanger, takes on the vocals and plays piano as well as electronic elements. He is supported by strings from the Reykjavík Orchestra under the direction of Viktor Orri Árnason. "Snorri Hallgrímsson succeeds in making a statement with his deep understanding of space and silence." - Higher Plain Music

“Recently I came across the old family camcorder while cleaning the storage. One of many treasures I found on it were videos from a trip my family made together for my mother’s 60th birthday. My mom is holding the camera, and the main characters are my sisters with their partners and my two adorable nieces, enjoying a beautiful summer day in the countryside. The footage is only 15 years old but yet it feels like from a different, almost forgotten time, before we all had smartphones documenting every second of our lives.

The song ‘Móanóra’ to me has such a nostalgic vibe to it, so it fit perfectly with the lo-fi aesthetic of the family footage. The title refers to a beautifully stubborn arctic plant that grows in the highlands, which somehow felt so appropriate to pair together with my own personal roots.

This song and video is dedicated to my family."
